Youth Services
Youth Services
Youth Services is an after-school program, which includes the L.A. Bridges Gang Prevention Program. The program is a City of Los Angeles funded program for at-risk youth in the community of Boyle Heights and East Los Angeles. We service youth from the ages of 10-14 years of age attending Robert Louis Stevenson Middle School or live within a one mile radius of the school.
Youth Services provides the youth with various services that help empower themselves and their community. Our program represents a comprehensive effort to strengthen neighborhoods, youth, and families by providing activities that effectively protect communities and provide real opportunities for people. The following are services that provide youth with the ability to be positive role models in their community.
Services Provided:
- Case Management Services
- Tutoring and Homework Assistance
- Goal Setting
- Computer Training
- Recreational Activities
- Mentoring Services
- Parenting Classes
- Safe Passages (before and after school)
- Resources and Referrals
Youth Services works in collaboration with El Centro de Ayuda. El Centro de Ayuda is one of our sub-contractors that provides other services at our center for our youth, such as:
- Individual Counseling
- Anger Management Classes
- Youth Groups
- Life Skill workshops
Youth Services is expanding and providing youth with a more structured curriculum and educational program. Plaza Community Services is working to develop and fund the S.T.E.A.M (Science, Technology, Entrepreneurship, Arts, and Math) Academy. The S.T.E.A.M Academy will provide the youth with a program structured to promote and facilitate learning beyond High School.
