Mission

Our mission is to support children, youth, and families in need to develop and grow within a nurturing, spiritual environment by providing effective, high quality health, education, and other community services.

Organizational Values

Family:  We value strong, loving families as the most basic unit to nurture the human spirit.

Community:  We value communities that provide sustainable networks for health and education, as well as spiritual and economic development in support of families and individuals.

Education:  We value education as essential to break the cycle of poverty and to nurture individuals who will contribute to a healthy, sustainable community.

Respect & Dignity:  We value each person as a child of God, and afford him/her the respect and dignity this status demands.

Cultural Competency:  We value the diversity of God’s kingdom and the diverse cultures of the people we serve; for these reasons we treat each person with understanding and respect.

Language:  We value the first languages of all the families we serve and actively support first and other language development through program curricula, communications, and staff development.

Operating Values

In all aspects of its mission, Plaza Community Services will be conducted according to the following values:

  • Growth:  The organization experiences regular and sustained growth (5-10% per year) through services provided and fund development.

  • Living Wage:  The organization pays all employees a living wage.

  • Fulfilled Employees:  Employees are fulfilled, and therefore are more creative, use their talents at work, get on well with colleagues, and are pleasant to clients, thereby enhancing the organization in significant ways.

  • High Standards:  Programs are of high quality, meet national standards, and obtain national accreditation when possible.

  • Advocacy:  Advocacy is an element of all programs and the organization.

  • Attractive Facilities:  Facilities and equipment are modern and well maintained.
